Have you ever dreamed of being an astronaut? For one man it was more than a dream, it was a way of life. Multimillionaire Diasuke Enomoto had dreams of jet setting into the unknown for his entire life. Enomoto had aspirations of becoming the Japanese "Neil Armstrong". With a passion for space and anime, Enomoto searched for years to find a service to launch him into outer space and eventually take him to the moon. Recently, Enomoto followed his childhood dreams through Space Adventures. Space Adventures is a Virginia based company that deals with high value people that are willing to put up millions of dollars to visit space as a civilian; however, even civilians must go through rigorous testing due to liabilities associated with the travel. As a civilian tourist eager to make his mark on the moon, Enomoto trained for eight months at the Star City training facility near Moscow, Russia. While at Star City, Enomoto informed his fellow trainers that he would dress as his favorite anime character Char Aznable from the popular series "Mobile Suit Gundam". Although many colleagues advised against dressing up as the anime character, the multimillionaire insisted that it was heavily incorporated in his plan and he would continue to carry the act through.
Unfortunately, Enomoto's hard work did not pay off after he paid his 33 Million dollars up front to Space Adventures. After completing his eighth month in Star City, Russia he was told by doctors that he was unable to take flight due to kidney stones. When deemed unfit to fly, Space Adventures claimed the 33 Million dollars was a non-refundable deposit which infuriated Enomoto. While disputing the claim, another millionaire business woman Anousheh Ansari swept away Enomoto's spot dreams away after paying the fee and investing a few million in the company. Watching in despair as Ansari lifted off with his childhood aspirations, Enomoto decided to take greater initiative to getting his money back. Recently, Enomoto has filed a lawsuit claiming that he was denied liftoff because he did not invest in the Space Adventures company. The outcome is currently pending in the United States District Court.
